Dainippon SG 8060P Mark ii

Hello all!

That's my first post on this forum, i hope you are all doing well!

I'm a young Filmmaker / Photographer from Paris and i just bought a Dainippon drum scanner (8060p Mark II) for my personal work, it was delivered without computer so i had to buy an old Mac separately and some SSI cards.

Does someone know where can i find the drivers of the scanner and which software do i need to run it? I heard people talking about SilverFast but i'm not sure..

I know that Marco Campanini from Castorscan uses this exact same scanner, i've send him a message but he's probably on vacations right now..

Screen has a download page for scanners.

Last time I looked, Silverfast did not support Dainippon, Screen scanners. I owned a Screen desktop drum scanner but moved to Hell/Heidelberg platform years ago. I may still have the floppy disks for the Screen scanner but I'll have to find it. Join Yahoo group, it's in the file folder, no floppy installation required, just drag and drop on your Mac.

I just downloaded the last firmware but i have few last questions :


- Is the firmware all i need to run the scanner? Because i also see on the download page :

"FT-S5500 Driver"

"SG Scan-X"

"ColorGeniusEx"

"Degital Camera V2 Data "

Do i need all that?


- If Silverfast does not support Dainippon scanners, which software do i need to run it and where can i find it? I feel like my answer is "Color Genius Ex" but i'm not sure..


- And last thing, i heard a lot about this "Scan Hi end Yahoo group", but even after a lot of research, i can't find it.. Does someone have a link?


Marco from Castorscan kindly offered to send me the softwares, so Marco, if you read that, i'm looking forward for your answer even if i get the softwares before..

Ps: Does someone know what kind of modification Marco from Castorscan made to his scanner ? It sounds like the improvement from this modification is really important..
