Another summertime camera project...

c. 1888 Eastman Interchangeable 5x7 Camera

Eastman nameplate removed and:

Partridge
San Francisco

Engraved on wood.

Possibly a dealers mark? Were several famous photographers named Partridge in SF at that time so who knows...

Was planning to replace bellows and use it as my 5x7 camera. But thought I would check here if it has importance/ value ? Maybe I should get it to collector instead...

Original burgundy bellows ( must be replaced to be a useful camera). Missing 2 pieces, front extension and fold away ground glass.
Otherwise is in sturdy working condition...

P. S. Any idea what the little triangle with center hole is for at left top of front standard?

They also made a 5x8... so how do I tell which one it is? the 5x8 could take 5x7 up to 11x14 and the 5x7 could take 5x8 and smaller... The bellows and rear standards were interchangeable hence the name Eastman Interchangeable...
