For those that do their own processing, we’ve started producing a new temperature-compensating timer.

We’ve manufactured a small initial batch to gauge demand - if it sells well we’re set up to make further units in higher quantities.
It’s quite similar in functionality to the old ZoneVI timer, and implements the standard Ilford time-temperature charts. It also acts as a digital thermometer when the timer isn’t running.

From what little I understand different developing agents have a different response to temperature changes, some Ive read about goes inactive as the temperature drops while others keep working. Can different profiles be programmed in for different developer types?

Different developers do indeed have different temperature coefficients; what is programmed in the unit is a compromise and corresponds to the Ilford time-temperature charts which are quite widely used. As a general rule you should minimise the temperature deviation from the recommended value.

We can programme the unit firmware to any desired compensation curve at manufacture (or even subsequently) for a small charge - I’ll put that option on the website. This might be useful if you are using a specific developer with a very different temperature coefficient AND are working at extreme temperatures.
