Ran across a very nice article in the current USA Today of the Hackberry Store on old Rt 66 in northern Arizona. While living in northern Arizona, my friends and I stopped at the store on our trips to Nevada. It was always fun to talk to international visitors, mostly from Europe. Many of these folks save up for years to do the Rt 66 adventure.

I reckon I became jaded over the years, as I grew up in a small town in central Illinois, smack dab on old Rt 66. In fact, my hometown lays claim to the only surviving drive-in theater on the Mother Road. Needless to say, there are always plenty of photo-ops in and around the store.

You captured it, Doremus! The article gave a good history about the ownership of the property over the years. I always loved being greeted by the vintage Corvette out front.

Where exactly on RT 66? I have traveled it in AZ and haven't seen this.

Thank you.

You're quite welcome, Mike. The store is a must-stop for Route 66 aficionados. The newest owner was a long-time employee who took over in 2016, whom I recall from my stops there. I can't recommend it highly enough.

That's a nice shot.

I have done the Kingman to Flagstaff run at least 4 times these 6 years either in November or March. Every time the skies were clear, not a single cloud so sadly no photography.
