Congratulations Bruce, admirer of your work.

Were some of these taken with your 4x5 Gowandflex (I think) TLR?

Bruce ... Congratulations ... a really nice honor ...and nice to see they linked the entire series of photos.

The notes show your images are 8x10 but no other info. Can you fill us in on camera, lens, film, developer, etc.?

Also, I'm curious about how you approached people with such big and potentially intimidating gear. Did you encounter any reluctance? Did you get releases or just not worry about it because these are posed shots?

Thank you, Jim. It really is an honor.
Gear-wise I use a Toyo 810MII. A variety of Ektar lenses, mostly wide field. But also a nice and very tiny 18cm Hugo Meyer, a Dagor design, which covers 8x10, but with some corner vignetting. FP4 mostly, but some HP5 too. D-76 1:1.
I find using the large format camera is actually a benefit in engaging people because it's unusual and can often be a springboard to begin a conversation. There's certainly a bit seduction involved when needed, but I am not always lucky. There are many days I come home without a single exposed frame after 6 or 7 hours of walking with my big cart. That used to be more frustrating, but I now understand it as being part of the process. When I *am* lucky it's extremely satisfying.

Bruce, anyone who has worked with an 8 x 10 knows how tedious it can be. Congratulations, as you well deserve the recognition, sir!

Thank you, John!
I guess the only real suggestion I can make is to be sure there's a consistency within the series. I'll add also that whatever series you are working on should be coming from the heart. A project that you have been working on for some time and are invested in emotionally. That will come through in the work.
Congrats, Bruce. I entered this as well. I would love to hear if you have any feedback / advice for entering!!

Well done sir.
