I am trying to decide on a Portrait lens as my first ever lens. The camera is Sinar F
So looks like 210mm is good for portraits but I found these two, the only difference I see is the font and color on the lens !

Is there any technical, mechanical difference between these two?

Looks like your post up the same lens twice if they’re actually different lenses there’ll be no difference that you’ll ever see

No they are two lenses. Notice the difference is in the font color of the word Schneider on them.
One of them is printed in white, one is in green?

So that made me think it means one of them is older production and one is newer production date maybe?

The one in your larger picture is newer production and should have a later serial number. The different typeface for the word "Kreuznach" is the key bit of evidence. But you want to see the rest of the labeling to see whether the lenses are in fact from the same generation optical design - for example, both Apo-Symmars - or whether one is a newer design - for example Apo-Symmar (older) vs Apo-Symmar L (newer).

Great, thanks for info.
