I just picked up a nice Goerz lens marked C P Goerz Berlin ...Dopp Anastigmat Dagor 168mm f/6.8 #364230.

It's the first one I've seen marked both Doppel Anastigmat and Dagor. It also has the old Goerz aperture scale 4.5, 6, 9, 12, 24, 48, 96, 192, 384. Glass is in nice shape, in barrel. It came in a focusing mount which works pretty smoothly. I'll stick it on a board and fool with it in the next day or so. Focusing mount has the same serial number as the lens.

Anyone care to hazard a guess about when it was made?

1920 (about!). Production was very small in post-war Germany, so production date and sale date could be years apart.

These focussing mount 168mm Dagors were standard equipment on the Goerz "Ango" 10x15cm focal plane cameras.

Thanks much! The lens seems in really good shape. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to mount it on my 2 x 3 Graflex (as well as on my 4 x 5 Technika!)

Heck, I have a Technika board to Mamiya RB 67 adapter as well - I can probably use it on everything. Would it cover 5 x 7?

Well, a Dagor should cover 5x7 at smaller stops. If it was made for 10x15cm (=4"x6") 5x7 seems reasonable. Will be interesting to see.
