I will be travelling to San Francisco with my view camera soon and want to know of galleries in the area (also surrounding areas) that specifically show or deal with/in black and white photography and traditional photomedia. Also, can anyone point me in the direction of photogroups/LF'ers/photographers collectives? (b+w preferably) etc..
I know no one in SF, Im hoping some one in this forum can help me!

I don't know the gallery scene there, but you can get good information from www.photography-guide.com and aipad.com

There's also an excellent show at sfmoma right now ... pictures from the Prentice and Paul Sack Collection. All kinds of great work from 1839 through the 1970s.

If you go out to the Sacramento - you should check out Viewpoint Photographic Art Center.

http://www.viewpointgallery.org/

While not exclusively traditional, a sizeable chunk of work will be lack and white and large and medium formats.

In November - the organization is having it's 7th Annual Print Auction. If you click on the link you will see a list of photographers that have already contributed... many of whom work in B&W and with LF.

Please note that the Auction images will be up in late September and will be ther through October.
