Hi all,

I just shot a box of Rollei RPX25 (along with some Ilford DELTA 100 to see how the 2 films compare). Rollei, or maybe it is just FreeStyle, recommends RPX-D for developing this film:

https://www.freestylephoto.biz/81045-Rollei-RPX-25-ISO-4x5-25-Sheets

However, I searched on the internet for information on developing RPX25 with RPX-D and cannot find any info so far. The closest website that I found just discussed developing RPX25 with Rodinal:

https://vikamera.wordpress.com/2017/03/03/rollei-rpx-25-film-review/

Yes, I did see the post by Arne Croell here on the LFPF about developing RPX25 with other developers (http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?116582-Rollei-RPX-25-In-5X4), but I figured that if Rollei/MacoDirect are recommending RPX-D, then I ought to at least try it 1 time.

So I ask: has anyone tried developing Rollei RPX25 with RPX-D? If so, then what were your experiences? Anything that I need to look out for (dilution, temperature, etc.)?

Namaste,
Daniel

You can develop it in any developer, but the time will vary from other films...

I remember the dev didn't matter much with this film, as the look/tonality didn't vary much, as it is fine grain already...

Just to follow up on this subject. I e-mailed Freestyle about developing Rollei RPX25 with RPX-D, and here is what they had to say:

That is actually a mistake on our website. Thank you for your email. I will let our webmaster know about it.

The Rollei RPX-D developer is formulated for push processing. If you use RPX-D with RPX 25, it defeats the purpose of having fine grain qualities of the film.
