Thanks Pali, Here's another one from that after dinner stroll...
All were done with a sweet little Mamiya 6 on a lightweight tripod.
I just let the meter do it's thing, but I always kept extraneous light from hitting the lens.
In a city's core there's lots of ambient light to fill in those black shadows.

Reinhold - very impressive and thanks for sharing. How do you manage to get such clean negatives (as in no dust)?. I'm still learning film but my limited experience with night shots (4x5 Ilford Hp5+) was not even close to what you've been able to present. I thought I was careful and took all the necessary precautions but they were disappointing to say the least. I'd be interested in any help you can give.

Hi Dave,
Secret weapon #1 is this anti-static brush... http://www.kinetronics.com/product/hand-held-anti-static-brush-5-5/
It's worth it's weight in gold around my darkroom and framing area.
Secret weapon #2 is Affinity Photo image editing software. It's spotting tool is simple and effective.
A filter in my darkrooms' water supply helps a lot.
My drying cabinet does not have fan circulation, only very slow low heat convection.
A glimpse of it is on my web page... www.classicBWphoto.com
And more details here... http://www.film-and-darkroom-user.org.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=9299&highlight=reinhold

The Wawona Tunnel image is kinda cheating -- it is a night image...after mid-night when I did not have to worry about cars...but not much different than photographing it during the day, otherwise! 8x10 pt/pd print

Reinhold, do you have any other super powers? Each one of these is terrific.
What is your favorite method of metering? Do you go high/low or directly on subject and let everything else fall where it may?

Thanks Mike,
I cheat a lot... Mamiya M6 & M7 auto metering gets a workable negative most of the time ...Provided... that street lighting does not hit the meter or the lens directly.
Using non-metered cameras (RB67, 4x5, etc.)... it's more hit & miss... a couple of 2-stop bracket shots raises the success ratio. Just make sure street lights don't hit the meter.
Here's London where it never get's really dark. That hot lamp on the far right was shielded by a pole, the RB67s 180mm lens clipped out a lot of ambient city light & my intuitive guess gave me a workable negative...
