Has anyone been able to get the bellows extension spreadsheet on this site to work?

Doesn't seem to be working for me....

Put in a new lens focal length and the calculations seem to all mess up

I couldn't get it tp work either in "openoffice".

The quickdisc right below it is a gem. Use it all the time.....

it seems to work for me using Excel 2003. Can you describe what goes wrong a little more?

jerald, I normally use the quickdisk, but the magnifications I'm using are giving a disk that's somewhat larger than the measuring stick...

Paul, my impression was you are supposed to be able to insert your own focal lengths?

So when I input say 250 instead of 300 I get #NAME? down the whole column from 250 onwards isntead of the new factors (only up to excel 2000 here)

No, when I replace the '300' in E2 with '250', it just computes right down the column, no problem.

Would you like me to save a copy in some older version format, and email it to you?

And are you loading it directly by clicking on the link in the web page, so that excel loads to display the spreadsheet in the browser window, or are you saving it and then firing up excel to open the spreadsheet?

well, still can't get it to work - I've tried three different computers with two slightly different versions of excel....

I got the same error as you, Tim. I got it to display correctly by using the menu options: Tools/Add-ins... and in the dialog box checked off the "Solver Add-in". That was with Excell 2003 at work. Not sure if it works the same in older versions. The root casue seems to be not finding the function MROUND() in the usual places.

Here is what Microsoft recommends about this problem. This didn't work for me, but may for you:


NOTE: The MROUND function is installed with the Analysis Toolpak add-in. To load this add-in after you install it, click Add-ins on the Tools menu. In the Add-ins dialog box, click to select the Analysis ToolPak check box.

I think you have to restart Excel to get the to update the sprteadsheet, but see support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;121730 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;121730) for more info.

thanks all - I finally looked up the error on google and came up with a couple of posts listed add-ons that were missing which caused. I "added them on" and now it works.

Great! Works just fine now
