You can see on this print the mess I made of the negative. I would like recommendations for a scanning service to scan, clean the file and have it ready for Chicago Albumen Works to make a new negative for me. They offer the scanning and cleaning service but the total to replace this negative is $400+. I could pay the model and redo it for that amount, but I thought I would ask here first.

The file size for a negative to be used for silver gelatin prints is 1.2G. The negative I have is Whole Plate 6 1/2 x 8 1/2".
Thanks

Is this a 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 glass or film negative.

I run a Screen 8060P for the drum scans and the Screen Cezanne for flatbeds for thinks like mounted prints and glass plates. I mostly specialize in black and white and have spent a lot of time dialing in a lot of things with the drum scanner to get the most out of the negs.

I'm not sure why it would be $400 to scan and correct a few spots and add a little room on the top and right side (unless that also includes the film setter negative too). I think you are looking at about 1/3-1/2 that for the scan and retouching if you were to go with me. Here's a link with some info and pricing: https://www.bwmastery.com/drum-scanning/
