The preview image in epson scan seems to be quite different to the TIF file it outputs.

I use the V600 for medium format scanning. I use preview to accommodate image framing and cropping I am not concerned with image quality at that stage.

The levels particularly white and black points are a little different. I keep a little margin so I can fine tune that in PS after scanning.
