Hi
I just bought this lens very cheaply and wonder if anybody might have som info on it.
It weighs around 3.5Kg mostly because of the heavy shutter housing.
Is it possible to work the shutter without the rest of the camera that goes with it or should I try and remove it from the shutter and get a lighter but more usefull shutterless lens?
Sadly the aperture control seems to be built in to the house of the shutter also.

They are nothing special optically. They do come in their own housings sometimes (they share a housing with the 7" AE I believe.)
