Unrequested email alerts arriving

I posted this a few hours ago, and it was accepted. But now it doesn't exist.

This morning I found 35 email alerts, and saw my status had changed so I was receiving alerts. Although I've since changed it back to no alerts, is it possible to find out how the status was changed and when?
