Hi,

I have a shoot just South of Birmingham, Alabama next weekend, but I'm off on Friday, so I'd like to bring the 8x10 and do some shots. Location suggestions are welcome! Thanks, L

I second that recommendation wholeheartedly. And the price is right (free) for entry though fees may be imposed for commercial/professional work.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I doubt much commercial work is done with a View Camera these days!

I third that recommendation! Here are their guidelines for photography:

Thanks Thom. I'll probably just bring the V8 not the V11.

So what are the fees for crews of 1 person? The way the fee sheet is written fees start at crews of 5 people.

For personal use nothing as I read it

C'mon, show 'em who's boss! Take that V11 in there! :)

Ok, LF newbie here....
What is a V8 and a V11? inquiring minds want to know,

Edit: I figured this out.

Spent the day at Schloss Furnace, shot 10 sheets of TXP 4 sheets of EB/RA. Used the 12" Dagor for most shots, one with the 6 1/2" WA one with the 19" Artar. A couple of 8 min exposures to include reciprocity will develop next week. Thanks to all for the suggestion.

Do you have any images to share, yet?

Developed, but not printed. Commercial work takes preference! Plus I'm having the plumbing to the darkroom re-done. Adding a gravity line so I can get rid of my little grinder pump under the sink. It's worked great, but it's time to move on. L

Any fees they wanted, or asked whether you did professional work? Their guide sheet on photo fees confused me somewhat.

I told them I was doing personal work for myself with an "antique" camera and not for re-sale which was true! L

The Sloss furnace is amazing. What a great place to wander around. If you are interested in motorcycles you have to go to the Barber Motorsport Museum just outside of Birmingham. It has one of the largest collections of motorcyles in the world.

Been to Barber's Museum years ago to see the Beemers. I have a 1992 K75S. L

I was supposed to go a few years ago but things came up and I haven't had the chance to go yet but would be the best time to go because I'm going to have time in a month and I would love to add to my portfolio! Any suggestions as to what month or season? Thanks I hope you got some great images of Sloss Furnaces!
