I know that there are different rear standard bearers for Sinar P 4x5 and Sinar P 8x10 cameras. Is there yet again a third rear standard bearer for Sinar P 5x7 cameras, or do 5x7 backs properly work with a P 4x5 standard bearer?

They work on the 45 standard bearer.

For both the P and P2 the 5x7 uses the regular (4x5) rear carrier (as sold new by Sinar)

The Heavy Duty 8x10 carriers have detents for 5x7 and work just fine but offer no real advantage in my experience

There is no specific carrier for the 5x7

Kind of wondering, since the connection on the 8x10 standard bearer is so far to the right (facing the camera from behind), how can this connection work with a 5x7 back? Does it mean using right-shift on the front to line up the 5x7 back with the front standard?

The rear needs to be shifted to the left with the 810 carrier if using a 5x7 (or 4x5) format set.

There are color coded detents for all the combinations. Gets confusing as you have to change the rise settings too front and back but it's not rocket science and the bellows will let you know if you're off.
