Are they available now, or are we to expect them in a June as well? Will they be sold on eBay again, or do we buy direct?

Thanks pierre506 for the information.
Still have just few sheets of "ERA Panchromatic Portrait Film", it's really good. Expecting Shanghai film to be even better.
But, I think a pre-ordered 11X14 at 30% only lower price compared to the already available ILFORD HP5+, is not that huge advantage to Shanghai film, specially for those who have their own stock.
I think Shanghai film adopted the same price difference between Arista Edue and ILFORD. With just a little push down in prices, and Shanghai film will encroach any competitor in the film market, in their sales.
Really good news in every way, thanks so much pierre506 for the information.
Wish Shanghai film every success.

Thank you.
Ilford HP5 11X14 is RMB 1900 25 sheets / box. And the minimum order is six boxes.
Shanghai film 11x14 is RMB 380 10 sheets / box, no minimum requirement.
That's why I asked the small number of packaging to give the users less pressure.
Everyone has his own option.

Hello pierre506,
Please check prices of your retailer!
ILFORD HP5+ 11X14 is stock available $199.95 @ B&H, NY/USA. You may purchase 1 box only. Adorama, I think stock the same film, but not sure.
Anyway, Shanghai at $139 is still very good, but wished it be more price competitive.
Also, why you do not plan shipping in the cold seasons? It's better for the conservatively of film during transit.
I know last week of December and first week of January are horrible for shipping. It could be best from mid Jan to mid Feb.
Please provide URL link where Shanghai Film can be purchased.
Thanks so much pierre506 for the information,
Thanks so much for introducing another beautiful film.

Thank for your information.
USD 200, one box of Ilford hp5, is almost equal to RMB 1600. Then it should be plused the international shipping cost and tax(maybe). I only found one shop on Taobao (in China) selling the hp5 11x14. There is no other option. So, it's also acceptable if we could buy hp5 11x14 about RMB 1900 directly in China, but the minimum quotation requirement.
It's the 1st time shanghai film cutting campaign. And we corporate with DHL. It should be a very fast delivery. So the temperature is not a big problem.
And you could find the sheets number per box. They are very small.
Because I won't to give the users too much financial and storage problem.
I also hope such campaign could be regularly, as seasonal, monthly...
Wishing you can understand what I considered because I am a ULF user, too.

Because this thread had been moved from other place and forum moderater suggested me to explain something here, I won't type more words and copied the message to the moderater here to explain:

Thank you, dear Oren,
I am just a user.
For my 8x20 and 12x20in films source, I had to contact the factory. After a long run negotiation, they accepted the campaign, otherwise they didn't care the production, especially the special sizes. So, this time, I have to be an organizer.
At least, there is one more option for LF and ULF users. They might not choose shanghai film. However, this brand would give Kodak, Ilford, Rollei, Adox, etc., a little pressure about their quality and price.
That's all.
Thank you again.

It may be a small thing production-wise for the firm, but it will give them at a lot of "visability" and shows their genuine interest in the needs of the end users.

Yes, dear Steven.
I used to optimistically think that it's possible about their 35mm and 120 roll films production before.
However, it seems very difficult after a long term discussion.

The factory needs more encouragement.

Pierre, I think what you are doing is great. I think Shanghai is a great film (it was developed in a cooperative effort with Kodak), and I'm really pleased you are making it available. I think that now that they have their new factory, they are right-sized for the market, and in a good position to be sustainable as film use grows again over the next decade or so. I would like to order two boxes of the 5x7, if it is still possible, and will send you a PM. I am also moving more towards 8x10, and look forward to shooting Shanghai in that format as well.

It's a great deal for Americans, but bloody expensive for Canadians, once you've factored in shipping cost (expensive!) and converted to our money. I went through a box of 4x5 and quite liked it. Still have a box of 8x10 to work with.

There's a good discounting contract with DHL now. The shipping cost to Canada is same to USA now. But all packages should start from 0.5kg, 1kg, 1.5kg and 2kg... weight. So, it's better to choose that the package is a little bit lighter than the next start weight.
For instance, the package of the 2 boxes of 5x7, Tim booked, is just less than 1kg. So, the shipping cost is about USD 20 to the US.

I did a lot of testing with it a few years ago, and got box speed with D-23 at 5.5m and continuous agitation at 30c.

This film (unlike others) gives full development with as little as 70ml in a Paterson Orbital. I used to wonder why people said it was impossible to use so little developer, until I started trying to develop Foma and Ilford films, which do need more developer.

New patch Shanghai 120 roll films~

In past years, Chinese black and white 120 roll film was notorious for using "firecracker paper" as backing that allowed the ink of the frame numbers to transfer to the film. When the film was developed, those numbers often ended up being visible.

Have those problems with the frame numbers been solved?

Don't know it yet.
But the problem you mentioned was caused by the paper supplier. The supplier had changed the printing method. Then the backing problem would be appeared sometimes if the rolls had not saved in a dry condition.

Do you know any film shops in China that will sell overseas? Prices on ebay are significantly more that buying Foma in the US, and comparable to Ilford, but prices on Taobao are cheaper. I would prefer to use the Shanghai over Foma, but cannot justify the extra expense. Buying from Taobao outside China is difficult and expensive.

He doesn't sell 4x5 or 8x10, which are both available on ebay, but at inflated prices compared t the old prices (before they moved the factory), and compared to the prices in China. Pierre organizes a yearly cutting of special sizes (5x7, ULF, etc.) by Shanghai as a favor to the community (I think he would rather be shooting).

Terry, they are easy to find. But their prices are inflated as Tim said.

Peter, I asked a senior guy in Chinese Polaroid community (so called).
The reply was that a shop in Beijing sells New 55. However it only accepts the reservation.

Pierre, I think the question is: is the film negative in new55 film manufactured by Shanghai? Not whether new 55 is available for sale in Shanghai. I have heard rumours that the negative is Shanghai film, but I have never used new55 (too expensive). Maybe if they formed a partnership with Shanghai they could produce in volumes sufficient to lower the price. There is clearly a market for instant film in the hipster community, and if they could get competitive with Instax they could grow fast.

Tim, iirc, unless New55 can find someone else to produce their pods, then their instant film is done.

Never heart the relationship between New55 and Shanghai Film before.

How about some reciprocity compensation data for this film? Can't find any anywhere, and I certainly don't want to waste the one box of 8x10 on testing for it...

The reciprocity timer app seems to have workable data for Shanghai. It is better than fp4 and a lot better than Roma 100 but much worse than tax and Acros, 2 minutes becomes 14.

"Batch", not "patch".

Batch = a quantity or consignment of goods produced at one time.
"a batch of cookies"

Yes, there is an app called Reciprocity Timer on iOS anyway, that I use for my pinhole pictures mainly.

Yes, I bought 150 rolls of last batch. However I only kept 5 rolls for myself finally because lots of friends around me ( in Suzhou ) wanted to share these rolls.

Dear Andrew,
I usually compensate according to this general reciprocity sheet, although I knew every film had its own data.

Thanks Pierre. Question. The column with the %. Because I cannot read Chinese characters very well, does this indicate how much to decrease development time?

Hi pierre506,
will you organize a Shanghai B&W film - LF and ULF sheet film campaign for 2018?Daniel,
I quitted to organize the new campaign because I was tortured last time. Someone here even wanted to bargain me with the price, shipping cost, currency exchange...
It's not a business to me.
But PLEASE inform and pay me what sizes you need before January 10th.
Same prices as the last time.
I can report to your offer to the factory.
Regards,
Pierre

I usually use and Shanghai 3x4in and 5x7in negatives ( pushed them on ISO 400) for my Graflex SLRs.
I also shoot 8x20in & 12x20in.

Hi All,
I`ve ordered 3 boxes of 12x20" to 2017 prices. The factory said the minimum order should be started from 100 sheets (10 boxes).
Anybody interested in 12x20",too?

- just 7 boxes missing to get fresh 12x20" cutted!

Hello Pierre.
Although I did not ask a supply of Shanghai film in this thread campaign(or anywhere else), I highly appreciate what you have offered for this community. I believe every body feels so.
It's great advantage, is clear on the future of film, craft and future prices.
Thanks soooooo much Pierre.
Hopefully, or not, I still have enough of 11X14" film.
But wish to see you continuing to offer Shanghai films in the form of campaigns or even other forms of personal service.
Please do not wast time negotiating(with non serious members) what has been already negotiated with the factory. Make this clear when to start another campaign for 2018(I wish really).
It has been unclear in this thread until post# 21, on your reply to the moderator, that this thread is a campaign.
Plus, the demand on film may be increased in 2018(this thread was started on March 2017).
And, you may add(with thanks) a little to cover discrepancies in exchange, transfer or whatever prices.
Prices on eBay are much inflated really.
Please consider also, Arista Edue film prices in LF, and the recent increase(only $10) of the only instock Ilford 11X14" film.
And let Shanghai film continue, all film sizes.
Wish you the best Pierre.
