The new July issue of Arizona Highways has an article byPeter Eisenberger stating that high res digital will now be accepted for submission. Of course 4x5 is still acceptable.

You know digital has arrived when Arizona Highways accepts it.

Instead of having me say, "I told you so," please refer to any of my responses to "Is Film Dead" or similar topics, either here or on PN.

We live in a society that values newer and better over anything old. I don't believe digital is better than film -- yet -- but it will be. Only in this case, "better" might not really be better. I'm enjoying film while I can.

How are they going to handle those digital pictures with their Linotype machines?

The photo editor at Arizona Highways is a friend of mine. Actually they have been accepting digital for years on a very case by case basis from people who knew what they were doing. I guess they are comfortable enough with it now to make it public policy.
