Looking at a Sinar/Copal Norma Era shutter. Green 1200, perhaps.

Just wondering which cameras can use the DDS insert cable to close the shutter prior to shutter actuation.

Easier to look at than describe.

Has anyone modified a non-Sinar to use this unique and useful feature?

As long as the back has the circular collar, it will mount on any 4x5 Sinar standard. Image attached.

Greg, your picture tells the story.

Thank you!

Remember way back when that someone had a machinist modify another camera maker's back... Worked great but cost him "an arm and a leg". I'd have to assume that he also had to have someone modify the rear of the front to accept a Sinar shutter and also the front of the bellows. My most envied modification was someone who had a machinist assemble a reflex viewing back for their 11x14. Think I read of it on page in VIEWCAMERA magazine.

Good advice. I DIY everything.

First look at a Sinar shutter. Very interesting and it came with all cables.

Right now I will use it on a Horseman.

I have watchmaker lathes, and my next shop will have bigger machines.

Thanks again!
