Looking for information on photogrsaphing the Gila Cliff Dwellings in Southern New Mexico?

Best time of day when interiors are well light? Best time of the year to photograph there?



There are 5 caves, which ones are suitable? I've looked on the NPS web-site and the phptpgraphs on the site don't reveal much.

Volume 2 of Laurence Martres' wonderful two-volume book "Photographing the Southwest" contains a discussion on photographing Gila Cliff Dwellings. Among other things he says the best photography occurs one hour after sunrise. I highly recommend these books if you plan on even occasionally photographing in the Southwestern U.S. (they also include two CD's containing example photographs from all the sites listed).

Watch out for Gila monsters- they're everywhere down there! ;)
