View Full Version : Re-arranging lens elements to improve Bokeh

I have a few old brass lenses that I don't use for various reasons. Usually because the images that they project are mediocre at best. I have read several posts in the past that mention that the elements were re-arranged and the image had much improved Bokeh.

Is their any rule of thumb for re-arranging the lens elements?

Have tried it twice, but neither time improved the Bokeh or any image quality. Specifically was really hoping that by re-aranging the lens elements in a brass lens, I could come close to the Bokeh of a Petzval for my 11x14. Have yet to come across a true Petzval lens at a reasonable price for my 11x14.

thanks
