Hello!

Can anyone recall a how-to article (I think View Camera Magazine) that mentioned how to construct circular Zone System Scales to affix to a light meter (mine is Pentax Spotmeter V). These small round cards were to be affixed to the meter to simplify/speed Zone System calculations for determining optimum exposures and plus/minus developments.

Thanks,

you can get them at Calumet for a couple of bucks, but you can also make your own - doesn't one of Ansels books have a template in it?

I think this one only has it or the digital pentax meter

Robert,
I can't help with the magazine article, but I bought a stick on label from Calumet a couple years ago for a Pentax meter that is just what you are looking for. I think it was $3.00. You might give them a call.

Ralph Lambrecht wrote an article about this in View Camera several years ago. I couldn't find the article in the archive, but check Sept Oct 2000 issue. It lists an article about using your spot meter. That may be the one.

I made my own out of a bit of a sticky label cut to shape, it took 2 minutes as I remember.

Another option is to make the Zone System Wheel calculator, which I think is linked on the lfphoto.info main page. It doesn't attach directly to the meter, but you can use it with various cameras/meters, digital meters, etc.
