Found this portrait that i was afraid got lost - i shot only single sheet of film with her. Shot in November, but finally processed yesterday.
It was breast cancer survivors project put together by local photographers, and i wanted to do something special for this lady, who was about to go under knife again (in two days from moment of the shot).
She is recovering now, i hope she will get brave enough again (i asked her to do another sitting when she feel up to it).

Did you use the original lens and shutter?
Thank you, Randy. Yes, the camera is all original. I bought last spring it from a collector who bought it from the family of the original owner. I am pretty sure it had never been used, as it was in the original case with holders and a receipt from the optician in CT where it was purchased. The leather isn't even scuffed and the bellows are pristine. It's a lovely little traveling camera.
Here are a few more portraits I've made with it so far:

Thank you so much, gentlemen. The instrument he is holding is called a bouzouki, by the way. He told me that it was a Greek instrument that was played in early days by a group of people of ill repute who favored the instrument because they could easily hide it under their coats when the authorities were nearby.

These young ladies front their own band, and thought a collodion image would be nice for their next album cover. 12x12 inch aluminum, with a 19.5-inch Velostigmat Series II wide open (of course!).

Thank you. I always feel glad when there's a hook like that, something a little off or unexpected. In Camera Lucida, Roland Barthes called it the punctum, which is a Latin word for the wound made by an arrow, or the mark made by a pointed instrument. I wish it happened more often!

Would it be ungracious of me to say that I prefer this shot to the full length one?
Very nice.
