Linhof History: how many Technikas were made?

Hi,

I am interested in Linhof History.

Does anybody have an idea how many Technikas may have been built (since 1936/Since 1945)?

What shares didi the small 6x9 technika have in their good times. In the market today, there are a lot of baby Technikas, were there so many or are th 4x5 simply the keepers....

maybe anyone has some infos or guesses?

There was no Photokina in 2015. There was a Photokina in 2014 and 2016. There will not be a Photokina in 2017.

Why would a repairman know? You are asking for marketing statistics.

A lot. Tens of thousands. Likely one hundred thousand. Technikas have been in production for 80 years.

Marketing Statistics is the last couple of years. Production numbers of the 30's up to, say, 2000, is photographic history.

If someone is good at statistics you could probably get a good estimate by comparing the number of Linhofs listed for sale on say Ebay vs a comparable camera of similar vintage (and value) with known sales figures. That may not be ideal but would give you an idea of relative rarity and thus possible sales figures.

Okay. What comparable cameras should we consider? Linhof has always been the measure of the best of its class.

I think the Master Technika Sales in 2016 were not so high, as the second hand market is fully stocked with a price tag difference 1500 to 5000 Euros. So I believe the Master are only a few per year now. it is a small company, Imthink he knew it... but top secret...
