I have a chance to pick up a 210 G-Clarion. What is the general opinion as to quality for field work and does it cover a 5x7?
Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry,
If the price is reasonable, do it. They are great lenses. I use a 270mm G-Claron on 4x5 and 8x10 and it's one of my favorites. The 210mm is generally acknowledged to cover 8x10 stopped down, so yes, it will cover 5x7 with some amount of movement.

210mm GClaron is a great optic. Remember that its single coated. But don't fret too much over that fact. My 305 (and previously a 240) is sharp, contrasty, and brilliant. Oh, and don't pay too much for one.
Have fun!
Thanks for the help. I bought it for 150.00 in as new condition.

Jerry, that is a good price if it is in a barrel mount and an excellent price if it is in a shutter. I use a 150mm G Claron for 4X5 and I like it alot.
