Looking for odd-ball sheet film tanks for our informal online "museum".

Interested in any odd and unusual sheet film tanks (mainly 4x5) for my collection. I've got the common stuff but I know there's some really interesting designs left over from years ago. I'd like to publish an online museum, outlining the history of sheet film processing technology.

Send me an email with what you've got, maybe we can work a deal. Might even trade one of our SP-445s!

I ended up making three of these devices (http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/showthread.php?119106-Gadget-for-use-of-steel-tank-with-4x5-film&highlight=wire+coat) for 4x5, and you're welcome to one of them. The pictures don't show the final modification, which was a second piece of wire bent into a gull-wing shape that snapped over the green straw and prevented the sheets of film from riding up out of the solutions after a few inversions. Eventually I splurged on a MOD54, but after some difficulties with sheets coming loose I bought one of those new flat black plastic tanks......you probably know the name.

What is an online museum? Some pictures with accompanying text? That's called a website with historical content I think :)

We're not really sure what it will become. Maybe a short video commentary and photos etc.

These are not sale, they are in my working museum.

Made for 2x3 sheet film by Nikor for use in Nikor SS roll film cans.

They work well, I use the one in the can all the time. The red box one is NOS and the one in back I assume is US made, stamped James T Lynch Pat Pending. It looks to be inferior to the Nikor and way more complex to make. I have never used it.

I can take better pics if you want.

I also have a Calumet 4X5 5 tank, tank line in a tempering bath tank all SS, for use with 2x3, 3x4 and 4x5 single film holders 6 per tank. Good for color. No pic as it is in storage. I use 4-up 4X5 hangers in my Calumet Gas Burst system. 16 films at a time.

Made from grey plastic with a perspex inner basket taking 12 sheets if I recall. Nice small units and does the job.

I use the long-discontinued Nikor sheet-film tank that takes 12 sheets, 4x5 and smaller. I've used it for both 4x5 and 3-1/4"x4-1/4" films. I'm sure it would work with 2-1/4"x3-1/4" as well. Let me know via PM if you want pics.

Howabout a Vintage Fedco Adjustable Developing Tank? It has a film holder that slides up and down the center post for doing different sized sheet film, and holds 12 sheets!

Thanks but I've got one. BTW, you're missing the agitator rod. I haven't tried it yet, but I don't think you'd get much agitation, the film holder doesn't have any room to wiggle.

I do have the little rod, but never used it because you're correct, it doesn't really do anything :)
