expiered chemicals

Hi All
While cleaning I found a Kodak "tmax rs (tmax developer and replenisher 2 stage kit) it expired 5/2013. anyguesses as to if it if still usable. I also found a box of 4x5 ilfordfp4 that expired 12/2014. I am wondering if the chemicls and film are still viable? Or is it safer to just buy new?

If temperatures in the storage area have been relatively stable, say within normal living quarters, both should be good. My friends say I don't know how to use "in date" film because i use very outdated film regularly. Last week I opened and used a 12, yes 12, sheet box of Super XX. I suspect the number of photographers who remember sheet film inboxes of 12, 24 and 144 sheets is rather small.
