Just recently I've had great advice and communication from a couple of members and I wondered if we should have a Hall of Fame where users can nominate people who have gone the extra mile.

Jorge Gasteazoro. Steve Simmons. Frank Patronio.

Too difficult to avoid it being subjective, no. Plus, there are so many people here who are such great help as it is. Too many good contributors who can't all be recognized.

No. Lets concentrate on the best photography, not the best people.

Rofl. :) I don't think it would lead to productive discussion, but people alre always welcome to mention their faves.

Jorge Gasteazoro. Steve Simmons. Frank Patronio...

Since, Jorge and Steve haven't been on the Forum since 2009...
And Frank is now found elsewhere...

Agreed...

Whether it be a Large Format Photography 'Hall of Fame' or 'Hall of Shame' (*Just joking of course everybody)... :) :p ;) :D
Both, could be 'tantamount' to skiing... On a very, perilous Slope.

Doubt it would fly, but a nice thought.
But maybe we can bow our heads slightly in the direction of all those who keep the "Nude" thread going? :)

No.

If you want to thank helpful people, either thank them privately via private message, publicly by expressing gratitude in a reply to a post you found helpful, or in a new post thanking named individuals for assistance (and spell out what they did for you).

There is almost no discussion about photography in this forum, unless you count photonerds techno babble as photography.
Why not then have a hall of fame and shame?

Do we self nominate?

Milonian, it's kind of you to want to show appreciation. But I'm afraid that for the Hall of Fame idea, the answer is no, for reasons already stated.
