For those of us who use 11x14 flat bed view cameras:
In another thread in this forum, angusparker posted the URL for a camera case from B&H.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...C&A=details&Q=
Purchased it and arrived yesterday. A perfect fit for my 11x14 Chamonix View Camera. Even has a slot for carrying 3 11x14 film holders on one side and also protects the GG of my Chamonix.
What a find... thanks angusparker.

I bought one for my Deardorff V11 too this week. Gator 18x18x5.5. Perfectly fit, one 11x14 holder in aux poket.

I'm looking for something like this, and the price on them is great, but it's lacking rigid sides.
Anybody know of anything comparable but a little tougher? I'd like to carry my camera and a couple lenses in the case.
Thanks

add some plastic?

I appreciate the idea, but I'd rather not DIY this, the gear is too important for my inept bungling.
And I don't want to derail this thread, so I'll post something shortly in the Gear section.
Thanks

Do let us know what you find - something a bit more rigid would be nice.

I bought a bigger version of this a few weeks ago and am very happy with it. Padding isn't great but I feel fairly comfortable carrying my camera in this.

Ari, I just got one of these Gator cases (25x19x8?) too, and I think it's pretty tough. There's room to add some extra padding, or whatever, if desired.

Thanks, guys; good to know they are stronger than the photos and descriptions would lead us to believe.
Here's what I found:

These are not as large as what Angus linked to, but they are deep, and are built tougher:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1123566-REG/ruggard_icb_1517f_folding_padded_printer_carrying.html
There may be larger versions of each, but I didn't immediately find them.

And for the discerning ULF gentleman-photographer:

The way they're stacked is kind of odd, but the top case should be a good candidate for a big camera; looks light Lightware quality at half the price.

I just bought a Chamonix 11x14, and after spending that kind of money, I want good protection. Here's what I'm looking at:

Double check and measure your 11x14 Chamonix. I really like that case but the base of my 11x14 Chamonix measures 17.5" (front to back) by 19.25" size to side. Interior of the case is 22"x17"x12.9". My Chamonix is 0.5" too big to fit in the case. :-(

You're right. I was looking at outside measurement of the case, not the interior dimensions.
Here's another

I was considering this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/813424-REG/Gator_Cases_GAV_OFFICE_2_GO_Office_2_Go_Laptop_Projector.html
Not sure if it will fit, I don't have an 11x14, but they seem like good all-round cases.
Whoops, I just noticed that I posted the same link above.
Well, if anyone buys this, could you please report on them? Thanks
