Not sure of the make or the camera model this rail clamp is designed for.......I'd welcome any positive identifications!

Also, is there a collar/insert missing?

Thanks in advance.

It would help if you could give us the measurement of the rail hole.

Hole is approximately 54mm across.....overall height about 110mm and base is 88mm diameter.

Well, it is not a Linhof Color clamp which is about 1/3 smaller. Sorry I could not be more help.

Thanks for ruling out the Linhof. The overall look reminds me a bit of Plaubel but I'm not very familiar with their line up.

Line up is the same.
My first thought has been Plaubel, too, but they used a more smart design for fixing the knob, and in my memories, 54 mm is too much for the Plaubel rails. I would more tend to around 40mm, but I could do a measuring, if necessary.

Maybe an MPP rail clamp?

Perhaps an early Base Tilt Linhof Kardan. One just sold on German eBay. Size and appearance is about right. The Base Tilt Kardan with Cardan joints had no gear rack of the later 8x10 Kardan.

Definitely not a Sinar clamp, for what it's worth.
