Hi,

I have Apo Ronar 520mm f10 lens without shutter. Which type of shutter is for this lens?
Thank you.

Hello,
without being able to measure your lens....It may JUST fit in a Copal #3(but you'd lose a little speed), failing that, It will probably go into an Ilex#5.
Either way, the lens will require custom-made adapters to fit it to a shutter.
Good luck

The Apo-Ronar having a cylindrical rear barrel of not to big diametre (?) could be handeled by an accessory shutter as the Packard Ideal (front or rear mounted, only one shutter speed (approx 1/15 sek) + B, but an inexpensive & light solution, or the Sinar-Copal rear-mounted shutter. The last one a true leaf shutter with speeds 15 sek to 1/60 sek. Both types available on ebay. Packard-Ideal for $$ 20 & up. Sinar-Copal for everything from $$ 150 & up dep. on condition. If You do not have a sinar, this shutter have to be customized to Your camera. Can also be mounted as front shutter, but are then vulnerable to damage to shutter blades - very expensive to fix.

Hi,

pre-mounting on a Compound V would be another option, good shutter with suffcient diameter for a single adapter ring.

Best
