I have reported a previous post that linked to a current on-line auction!
There is no garantee that the plate holders will fit and one of these is to a dedicated film pack holder which has not been available for decades!

10x15cm was the least popular of the smaller sizes - there are lots of 9x12cm and 13x18cm cameras.

ICA existed until 1926 and some models were continued after Zeiss-Ikon took them over. ICA, itself, was also a result of several companies being combined! There are at least 4 different designs of the metal single plate holders for each size, so you will have to wait for ICA Ideal owner to respond - mostly likely a 9x12cm owner - as these are much more common.

When you know the style of plate holder, you can put an add here (in the For Sale/ Wanted section) when you have been a member for a month. You may find a listing on ebay.de, but it may take some time. There has been a considerable drop in the amount of German folder accessories compared with 5 years ago.
Note that these holders are mostly made for glass plates and will need adapter sheaths to take modern cut film. It is possible to make cardboard inserts to use 9x12cm film.

Hello Tobias,

The ICA Ideal was made in different formats*:
nr. 111 for 6,5 x 9 cm;
nr. 225 for 9 x 12 cm, (older cameramodel was designated nr 205**)
nr. 246 also for 9 x 12 cm but a more advanced camera;
nr. 325 for 10 x 15 cm (the German Portrait format);
nr. 385 for 13 x 18 cm.

The plateholders and filmpackholders had the following type numbers (sometimes you can find Zeiss Ikon holders with the same numbering which should also fit, since the Ideal was made by Zeiss as from 1926 after the merger). ICA and Zeiss had these numbers imprinted on the plateholders:
nr. 111: 726/3 for plates and 728/3 for filmpacks (older cassettes had nr. 726/2**)
nr. 225: 726/6 for plates and 728/6 for filmpacks (older cassettes had nr. 727/6**)
nr. 246: 726/6 for plates and 728/6 for filmpacks (older cassettes had nr. 727/6**)
nr. 325: 737/12 for plates and 740/12 for filmpacks
nr. 385: 737/13 for plates and 740/13 for filmpacks

Here's a picture of the plateholder that you'll need for your 385 Ideal (it is a photo from my Zeiss Ikon Favorit 10 x 15 - which uses the same plateholders):
144836

Please note that all these plateholders (metal for single plates and wood/metal for double plates) and filmpackholders, are very rare and therefore hard to find. Single metal holders for 10 x 15 cm can be used but afaik only with a special adapter made by ICA, which I have never seen.
Btw since you're in Germany I guess it'll easier for you than for us to find the right plateholders.

* all info from the 1925 ICA catalogue, apart from:
** according to the 1919 ICA catalogue.

About your writing on "cut sheet holders": the above ICA/ZEISS plateholders were all made for glass plates. To be able to use them with sheet film, you have to find and insert sheet film inserts and place them into the glass plate holders.
Hope this will help to find your journey into ICA and Zeiss Ikon camera's and their plateholders.

Here's a somewhat bigger picture of the 10 x 15 cm ICA double plateholder.
Please note that these are not the regular "slide-in holders" but are so-called "pop-on pop-off" or in German "Anlegen Platten" holders.
They are fastened with a clicking/spring system.

Older ICA holders maybe marked Huttig, or Huttig ICA. I think the numbers are there as well.

I do have a couple of the plate holders shown in the photo from Ron, but not sure if they are 10x15 or 13x18. They are actually NOS in original carboard boxes. Will write again when I am home from Spain in 12 days.

They are by far the most elegant metal holders I own. Sorry, but I forgot I had them (too much equipment around the house!

Thanks Steven, do your holders have a number on them and are they Zeiss or ICA?

Ther only have ICA. No sign of Zeiss or any number. The pressure spring is a marvel - devided into six separate springs. Sheaths are by AGFA 13x18.
