Anyone ever use one of these? Know where I can rent a couple?

It's funny- it looks identical in construction (with the obvious exception of the mount) to the Bowens/Calumet fresnel. I can't tell you where to rent one, but I have used one in the Bowens mount. You can create a very finely focused beam with it.

It has an iris which can limit the spread down to a very small circle.

Thanks for the info. We're hoping to find a light modifier that will give us a little more punch than grids and this seems to fit the bill. None of the rental houses seem to carry them, though. B&H sells them for $1,500 so, ideally, I'd like to try one out before we buy.

They rent them I believe, if not from B&H then any rental house in NYC will have them.
