View Full Version : Nagaoka for recessed Technika lensboards

I bought my 4x5 Nagaoka in 1975 from the importer in Hawaii, but have used it very little because most of my best lenses are on recessed boards for my Technika, and they cannot fit into the front standard.
Are there some (later?) models which allow the recessed boards to be used? How does one identify them?
Thanks.

Can you post a photo of your front standard?

It has a round throat, but too small for recessed Tech boards. I'll post pictures tomorrow.
Thanks

Bill,

I'm not familiar with the Nagaoka, but I had a similar problem with the Zone VI camera I have. A bit of time with a half-round file did the trick for me, though it was close. Maybe you can modify your front standard enough to accept the recessed boards?

The other thing is to change to flat boards. It's not that difficult if you've got the boards. I used to switch my 90mm and 75mm to flat boards when using them with my Woodman (and then back again when using the Wista). Just a couple of minutes for both...

142166I think that I answered my own question. I've seen pictures of Nagaokas with a round throat, but mine is rectangular (from the front frames of the bellows).
