I have a 4x5 Sinar F (I shoot everything with a 135mm Rodenstock APO-S and focus with a Toyo x4 Loupe) that I put Bill Maxwell's brightest ground glass in about 6 months ago. Oddly the focus is perfect up close but the farther way I go the more it front focuses. At first I assumed user error. But I have shot nearly 1000 sheets and its consitant. But its boggling my mind why it would work up close and not far away. I dont have a good way to check the T distence. Im wondering if the extra height of the protective screen is throwing off what I see as focused with the loupe but that seems unlikely. Anyone run into this before? Always possiable its still a user issue but that screen is so bright I dont need a dark cloth unless its full sun and it looks very sharp through my loupe. I dont wear glasses but im tempted to try to it jock sturges style and use readers instead of a loupe.
