Two weeks ago i ordered a box of J&C 400 8x20. Tonight I go to order again and the price listed is over twice as much as i paid before. I checked my invoice and on Jan.31 i paid 103.99 for a box now it is listed at 217.00. This has to be a misprint ( I hope)

The $217 price is for a 50 sheet box. If you previously got 50 sheets of 8x20 film for $104 you got a really good deal.

Yes it was 50 sheets for 104. Regardless of how good of a deal it was. The point is that is over a 100% increase in a matter of two weeks. I understand if their J&C 400 is one of the only games in town for 8x20 but to over more than double your prices is blatantly taking advantage of the consumer. Increases because of supply and demand is one thing. But this is rediculous

Is it a price increase or just a correction of the price? I could have bought a bunch of it, cut it in half and shot 8x10 for just a buck.

The dollar's weak, the market's strong, and the E. European factories are having to bootstrap themselves up to EU standards on environmental protection, labour conditions and return on capital. Doubling may seem extreme, but if J+C buy in batches I can see how it could happen.

I just heard from J&C. John informs me that their error was in my favor. At the time my order was placed they were expecting a new shipment of film and expecting it to be in 25 sheet boxes. But 25 sheets at 104 is still cheaper than 217

Error aside--on APUG a while ago they mentioned that Forte, which makes Classic 200 and 400, was going to raise prices about 5-10% as part of its economic reorganization, because their prices were previously too low to support operations.

Apparently I got a hell of a deal on a box of 8x20. And the slight increase from 104$ for 25 to 217& for 50 is due to the macroeconomic situation in Europe and the devalued dollar against the euro.........Phewwwwwww......I'm going back under the darkcloth where I belong
