It seems to indicate the old group archive can be downloaded as a zip file. If you can get it to work, please let us know.

From my quick spot check some of the archive seems spotty: lots of message titles but no bodies. The December 2003 crawl looked like it had actual messages archived, though. I've not looked too hard.
