lens board question

Simple question but i cant seem to find the answer to it. Is a lens board for a 4x5 the same as for a 8x10? For example if I purchased a linhof lens board is there a separate size for 4x5 and 8x10 cameras? Whether the same lensboard fits a 4x5 and/or an 8x10 depends on the camera. For example, Sinar 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 cameras all use the same lensboard. The link you referenced shows Linhof Technika-style boards. So, if you have a Linhof Technika adapter board for your camera, then yes, those lensboards can be used.

Also be aware that there are two styles of lensboards for the Technika 4X5 cameras... There is a older, flat along the bottom edge with a circular recess on the inside/back for the older style III models, but a raised circle on back with little cut grooves on bottom edge for the later III to present model boards...

The early boards were usually silver, but sometimes textured black, so make sure you buy the right ones if you are looking at used ones...
