I got a pair of Gralab 300 for free. The first one is an easy fix, just need to screw correctly the knob that holds the second hand.
The second one is the plastic model. It simply didn't stop. I suspect first than the 2 hands was set at the wrong place but I let it run for more than an hour and the hands simply didn't stop nowhere.
I can use it this way as the timer work good but if someone know how to fix it, I can try it.

I had one of the plastic ones that did this. It is likely a worn or broken gear. I ended up discarding it after attempts to correct the problem. After all, these things are hardly rare or expensive. I believe yours were free ...

Yes on APUG, free for a low shipping from a canadian member.
Probably that the hands was turned counterclockwise and some pins broke inside, I don't see anything wrong outside on the hands.
"I ended up discarding it after attempts to correct the problem." :) Maybe I must use it this way instead of completely broken it!

I have one that does the same thing. It is collecting dust.
