Back in the day i use to keep my 4x5 film holders in these. Does anyone use anything like this for 8x10 or is really just overkill? http://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-20530/Special-Use-Bags/12-x-15-3-Mil-Amber-Reclosable-Bag

Great link...Thanks!
You paid $242 for a 37 pound carton with 1000 bags to store your holders in? Say it isn't so...

Haha no I was just posting the bags as reference. I didnt buy 1000 bags.
I use the pink ones too. A little smaller though. They last quite a while and keep the film holders dust free. I didn't get silvered ones because I want to see the labels on the film holder and whether the film holder has been used or not.
I just reuse black bags from fiber paper/film for my 8x10 film holders. Works fine for me although I'm sure there are people who would rather buy ziplock baggies.
holders into ziplocks, ziplocks into black plastic bags available from Freestyle
black plastic bags into a canvas tote
canvas tote into the server room at work which is nice and cool

I get mine from McMaster Carr. They have all different sizes and types.

I use something identical for 5X7, which barely fit. I load them up and keep them in the fridge until use. I like the fact that they are sufficiently dense to keep bright direct sun off the holders in my bag.

Unless the plastic bag has been intentionally made/processed/treated to reduce or eliminate static, you are inviting a dust nightmare if you're shooting anywhere in a dry climate.

I believe they are anti-static bags and I am nearly always shooting in a dry climate. They work fine. I haven't worried about dust on a negative since I started loading holders then blowing them off with a hepa machine before putting in the dark slides.
