Anyone have any ideas as to decent lens in the 400-600mm range that will thread directly into a Alphax #4 shutter? Shutter has no aperature so it would be sort of convenient if the lens did. This will be used as a long lens on 4x5 and not quite as long on 5x7. It looks like about a 59mm or so thread on the shutter. Thanks, Steve

The S.K. Grimes site lists various lenses and the shutters they can be adapted to. (see http://www.skgrimes.com/fits/index.htm (http://www.skgrimes.com/fits/index.htm)) But, in some cases, some machine work is necessary to make the fit. Except for barrel lenses with waterhouse stops, the aperture is usually part of the shutter mechanism. Thus, that may further limit your choices.
