What's the best quality lab for C-41 development in Los Angeles, Ca? I've been using "The ICON" but I'm just wondering if there is anything better that I might not know about for C-41 film processing.

(must be able to process c-41 8x10)

I know of several guys who use them for c41. How is the icon not meeting your needs?

I have no problems with ICON LA's services. I'm basically just looking to see if there is somewhere closer and cheaper with the same type of quality as the ICON.

Does anyone have any further input regarding C-41 sheet film processing and Icon in Los Angeles?

How about A&I, The Darkroom, and D&J ?

D&J only processes 35mm C41 I believe. It runs through a machine...friends I know who use them say they are just ok. You get your negs rolled up in a bag no sleeve.

I would also avoid using Richard Photo Lab. They've dented at least 2 rolls of my C-41 film in 120. I've since contacted them about the problem but for my own work I'm never using them again.

I know I've made this thread awhile back but I changed my mind...I'm not taking my film anywhere else but The Icon.

Thanks for the information, Eric.

Have you used the Icon for C-41 processing of sheet film as well?

Yes I mainly use The Icon for C-41 sheet film processing (8x10) and have always been impressed with the results. Never had any issues at all with them and if you drop off the film before 12 you can usually get it back in 4 hours. The price is a little steep but you pay for professionalism. I tried to be cheap and go other places and have never been as satisfied as I have with The Icon.

Does Icon also print or they just process the negs?

Does Icon also print...?

Yes, they do, go to http://www.iconla.com/main/services and click "Darkroom Prints" under Film Services, for optical prints. They also so scans and digital prints.

I haven't used them, as of yet, but I'm considering trying them, for optical prints.
