Nikon 4x5 scanner on Ebay

There is a Nikon 4x5 scanner on Ebay with about 10 hrs left. I wonder if it is any better than Epson 4870. Please advice if you have experience with the scanner. Thanks. John

I have one that I bought for around $300 (originally it was over $10K). The registration has become unreliable on mine, so I can't depend on it for color, and it's not worth repairing, but when it works it's not bad, and this isn't a problem for B&W, which scans in one pass. For $500, which is the opening bid, you're probably better of with a 4870.

Keep in mind it scans 4x5 at only 1000 dpi.
