Hi Everyone,

Just some publicity about my first major solo photographic exhibition which opened yesterday at The Station, Richmond, North Yorkshire in the UK and runs until 13th May.http://www.richmondstation.com/exhibitions.asp?ExhibitionID=99. I've been meaning to post this notice for weeks, but it's been such an unbelievably frantic time over the past 3 months getting everything ready that I've not found the time until now.

All photographs have been taken on 5” x 4” Velvia or Provia at Thorp Perrow Arboretum, Bedale, North Yorkshire, a 100-acre haven of tranquillity and peace for me that's just 20 miles from my home. It's the culmination for me of almost 60 visits to the arboretum and around 300 hours shooting over the past 15 months.

The transparencies have all been drum-scanned and I've printed, mounted and framed all of the work myself, except some larger Dibond prints that I couldn't personally produce. Most print sizes are 25” x 20” and are printed on Hahnemuhle Photorag, my favourite paper, on my Canon IPF 6400.

If any of you are able to get to the exhibition I'd be delighted to meet up with you there sometime. I'll try to post some images later.

Kindest regards,

Rod.

Good luck Rod with the exhibition

I'm au fait with both Bedale and Richmond and visit the Leyburn/Middleham area a few times a year - no plans to do so during the period that you're open

Hi David,

Many thanks for your interest. I'm planning on being at The Station most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for the next 3 weekends, so if you'd like to meet there I'd be really delighted to see you. I think I've still got your email address, so I'll send my contact details so we can arrange a suitable time.

Initially, I was only planning to go for short periods on Saturdays and Sundays, but the wonderful response I've had from visitors while I've been there during the first 2 full days of the exhibition makes me inclined to spend much more time there.

Regards,

Rod.

For anyone who can visit the exhibition, I strongly recommend it. I was expecting grand vistas of tree lined avenues, but was greeted by spectacular close ups. Rod certainly has an eye for the details.

the light there seems to be excellent for watching photographies. Very nice place indeed.

Hi Bruce,
It was really good to talk to you the other day. Glad you enjoyed my exhibition and many thanks for your kind comments. I do actually like avenues, but in the past year I've become much more obsessed with detail in the landscape.
Kindest regards,
Rod.
