Can I adjust a Leedal thermometer?

I have one of the Leedal in line dial thermometers on the faucet going to my print and film washers. Always worked well - just telling me what the tap water temp was.

In a batch of old darkroom gear that I recently acquired, was an identical unit. However, the two read 5 degrees (F) different! I know my original one is correct (or certainly close enough). I also know that some dial thermometers can be adjusted or calibrated.

Can I do this to the Leedal?

Thanks.

If you have a nut behind the dial, it is for adjusting it. With this model if I remember well, you will have to unscrew it from the mounting assembly.
Best way is to match all your thermometers with a very precise Kodak Process Thermometer Type 3.

Just for the record, I don't know about Leedal, but often dial thermometers have an obvious joint at the very tip, with two flats on it to grab and twist for adjustment.

Bottom line, of course, is that there's always a way. :-)

Don't know about Leedal, but Powers thermometers have a screw on the back which adjusts the relationship of the dial to the needle.
