I found this interesting article at How To-Geek regarding bias lighting for your monitor and/or TV.

Basically, bias lighting is providing a light source that illuminates the wall behind the screen. Doing so reduces eye strain.

"There’s a good chance you’ve been watching television and working at your computer for years in a way that fatigues your eyes, increases your chance of headaches, and overall decreases your enjoyment and comfort. Read on as we show you how to create a comfortable and high contrast viewing experience with bias lighting."

This is a very useful thread. I am changing my lighting to meet the recommendations.

I have everything I need already.

Thanks for posting!

Back during the reign of King Kodachrome we deliberately avoided much bias lighting when projecting slides.
