This week on our annual spring break pilgrimage to the scary big city, I will likely be forced to endure a trip to the mega-retail paradise. Has anyone found any useful items for use in their darkroom or kit?

Thanks
Ken

There are some kitchen things that could be useful, but probably my favorite is their stainless steel cable clothes hanger with clips. It's perfect for hanging film and prints.

I use one of their industrial style ceiling lamps for contact printing on Azo & Lodima.

A friend of mine purchased some (RED only) LED Christmas lights from them, and he's reported that they work well as an alternative safelight in his darkroom. I have not printed in his space, so I'm taking his word on it. But his prints look good, blank edges are nice and white! Probably under $10, but might only be available during the holiday season.

I was at Ikea recently and as we were walking by the restaurant noticed that on the wall over the meatball station they had 3 pictures of very friendly looking ponies. Truth in advertising perhaps?

I used a number of their kitchen storage systems in my darkroom. I really like the stainless steel tubular shelves with hanging accessories.

There's a large glass beaker shaped flowerpot that might come in handy for mixing

Nice one but I didn't see it online, what the exact name or number?

For my darkroom, I bought a lot of things there.
From the Grundtal series, the deeper ajustable shelf (call Drying rack 902.192.97). Containers square, round, double (called caddy), that fit on the bar 202.135.38, bars available in many width. Grundtal Stainless S hook, 2 sizes. Also many Grundtal towel rail, horizontal or a nice pivoting vertical one 600.478.96
Drying rack 101.771.78 that can be closed. Nice BOHOLMEN Dish drainer and flatware basket 102.085.23, basket can be hang on the Grundtal bar. Also ORDNING Flatware caddy, stainless steel 300.118.32 that can be hang to the Grundtal bar with S hook.
All in the kitchen and the Washing room sections.
As you see I like IKEA stainless accessories!

Here a picture of my IKEA darkroom

The name is DIGNITET.
While you mention it, the set of paper drawers with the printer on top is also from Ikea.
I think that it fits a 16x20.

I use the same 6-drawer cabinet shown on the left in Ibenac's photo for storing prints mounted on up to 16X20 board. It can be rolled from one spot to another. Sorry, but I cannot remember the code name.

With all the suggestions members made, you will have to check a lot of departments.
Take your darkroom wall measurements and figure what you can add.
Look online before and take care of their weird measurements ex 80cm is 30" not 32" so you cannot fix in our standard north American 16" center so adjustable width shelving is a better choice, a bit more expensive but also deeper.
And have fun with your wife, 1 item for the laundry room = 1 item for the darkroom, 1 item for the kitchen = 1 item for the darkroom, etc :)

When I recently put together my darkroom ikea was my first stop after the sink and plumbing. The kitchen racks and accessories work really well, it's all stainless... and inexpensive! Plenty of plastic funnels and pitchers too.
Under my sink and enlargers the heavy duty wire racks from Costco do a great job. I got the shelving and then bought 1" uprights any height I needed.

I want the Grundtal stainless steel toilet seat, I'd bet the wife won't like it (too cold) though.

I found a plastic storage container with lid that's almost perfect for 4 4x5 sheet film hangers.

I've never been, but my wife brings home things she thinks I might like.
These cups mount on a rail, they have drain holes and work great for letting wet items air dry.

This is a wire line that the SST clips can side to any position on. I haven't put it up yet, but it looks good.

SPONTAN can be used for a vertical (wall) mount easel.

Back when I had a darkroom.... I had lots of Grundtal. The shelves were good for storing beakers and other vessels so they could drain. And I had the Grundtal rail attached to the ceiling the length of the sink for hanging film to dry with their little S-hooks and some film clips.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I picked up a couple things including the dignitet. Thanks for your suggestions, Ginette. When dealing with my Bride, I need all the coaching if can get.

I don't think I would ever want to take a dive in an IKEA submarine fifty feet beyond maximum depth recommended. I didn't seen anything I felt was over-engineered.

I needed a dim light to use when unloading my newly acquired BTZS tubes. A Jansjo fit the bill— http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80169636/
