Anyone? I have a frankenrail with the too-long center screw that I need to cut down or replace...
Thanks in advance.

You need either test nuts that cost pennies anywhere or a metric pitch gauge, which also is cheap.

Measure twice yourself and cut once.

Guaranteed it's metric.

Thread size is M6x1.00mm pitch.

The plastic threaded ends are Loctited in place Heat the metal threaded parts to break the bond, then it can be taken apart. Too much heat will damage the plastic end cap. Inside the rail is a M6x1.00 threaded rod and special sized washer as a cap.

The key strip on top of the rail uses M3 flat head screws with smaller than ISO/DIN spec flat heads.
