Shen Hao 6x17 roll film back - masking?

Hello all, I was hoping that any users of the Shen Hao 6x17 roll film back may be able to help me? Supplied with the film back is a pair of felt covered "baffles" - are these to mask the film gate (to 6x12? ) If so how do you fit them? If they are not intended for this what exactly are they for?? Oh for a simple set of instructions!! many thanks Paul

Mine came with metal masks which attach just in front of the film plane with two screws each side.

I'm not sure if I have answered you already on this topic. Simply remove the metal darkslide, reach into the back through the opening and slide the baffles into the edges of the frame.
